THAI WOMAN SICK MAN COOKING THAI FOOD FOR LAST 4 YEARS

0

My wife is from Thailand and we have been married for 4 years. We decided to start a traditional family because I make enough money to support a few people and she likes the idea of being a stay-at-home mom/wife. Therefore, I pay the bills and provide for the family to cook, clean and take care of the children.

Everything is going well so far and we both like to live like this. It’s just that I’m a little frustrated when it comes to her cooking…

Don’t get me wrong, she’s very knowledgeable and I appreciate her, but it’s just the type of food that bothers me a bit.

Her culture is important to her (which I fully understand) so she cooks a lot of Thai food. However, I’m really not a fan of Thai food because it’s always spicy and basically just chilli and fish sauce. Also, some dishes such as the weird raw prawns just don’t appeal to me.

I suggested that she might want to try some non-Thai recipes because I’m not a big fan of them, but she was quite offended. Yesterday I overheard a conversation she had on the phone complaining to her friend about this situation calling me “mai dee” with my name and some Thai words about cooking.

Am I wrong to tell him that, imagine that I have been feeding you the same cuisine for 4 years, you are also sick, right? Somemore Singapore’s multi-culture, we eat all kinds of food.

Here’s what the netizen thinks:

  • If my other half is home all day and I’m the only one putting money on the table while I have to cook for myself, might as well be single.
  • I think the problem is that she takes care of the kids and does all the housework, and then when it comes time to cook, she wants to go for tried and tested recipes that she doesn’t have to think about.
  • I didn’t know if you are married you always have to eat the same rotation of food, thanks kind stranger. I don’t think anyone starts a marriage and thinks ‘fuck, I’ll never have a say in what we’re going to eat for dinner’
