Thai House is always a winning option

It’s crazy where lunch can sometimes take you. I stopped at a restaurant that was supposed to be open and they were closed; then went to a second restaurant for a particular dish and they didn’t have the items for that day. I decided to play it safe for my third option and go to a restaurant I hadn’t been to in a few months, Thai house. This is one of the ICT 100 restaurants and never lets me down.

969 N West St, Wichita, Kansas 67203

Tuesday – Friday: 11 a.m. – 8 p.m.
Saturday: 11 a.m. – 4 p.m.
Closed Sunday & Monday

The small space on West Street once offered seating, but they have since become take-out only.

I always go with a soup when I visit and I went with the Thom Yum Kai and smelled the Pa-Naeng with beef. If you’ve never had their Pa-Naeng, it’s a Thai pa-naeng curry paste and sweet basil in coconut milk.

Everything Thom Yung is a delicious starter at Thai House. If you like all the spicy, sour, salty, and “addictive like crack” (is that a thing?) flavor profiles, then this is a soup you have to order. The Pa-Naeng was equally delicious. It was sweet, yet salty, and it was just an explosion of flavors that kept you coming back for more. I wish my takeout container was drowning in the sauce because I would have swallowed it all with no regrets.

Thai house

In a town full of great Thai options, Thai House is easily up.
