Tack Thai Food is hosting a food and culture festival in Wrexham

A Wrexham Thai supermarket will celebrate food and culture for all to enjoy this summer.

Tack Thai Food is hosting its “Tack Thai Street Food” festival which will feature authentic Thai food, craft stalls, massages, a bar, music and Thai dancing throughout the day.

Monks will also be present, who will lead a prayer session at 10 a.m. and will be there to bless people throughout the day. The event will partly raise funds for the monks, who are creating new spaces in their Runcorn temple.

The event aims to introduce the local community to Thai culture and cuisine and expects a good turnout from people across the country.

The supermarket has now been open for just under a year and says it is seeing customers from all over the UK, thanks to their online sales which deliver nationwide.

Tack Thai Food originally set up shop in Wigan six years ago, however, needed larger premises for their online orders and saw potential in the warehouse they now reside in just outside from Wrexham town centre, which also houses the supermarket open to the Public.

The supermarket wants to expand its customer base, but people outside the Thai community who may have never tried Thai food. The supermarket has recipes for customers to try and are more than happy to help.

A Tack Thai Food spokesperson said: “We have a captive Thai audience, they are regular customers. They gravitate towards us because they know what they want to buy. We want to attract people who aren’t used to Thai food, so if we can get them into the store, they can look around and we can engage them; talk about different tastes, sensations, talk about food.

They said it would also bring more education and experience to the Wrexham culture.

They added: “We are here, come and try the food, don’t be shy, try something different.”

The event will take place on Saturday May 27 from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.
