Authentic Thai food restaurant is now open in the former Twisted Taco location on the Alpharetta Highway

Authentic Thai street food is now available just off the streets of Alpharetta!

From the aroma-filled food markets of Bangkok, Rickshaw Thai Street Food offers the magic of Thailand’s best street food. Housed in a two-story building, diners can choose between casual dining indoors or an outdoor dining experience on a rooftop terrace.

Longtime restaurant entrepreneur Paul Yuwachit, already a mainstay of the Alpharetta dining scene with the former Twisted Taco restaurant, has reinvented the same space with Rickshaw’s large menu that will bring spice to life and to Southeast Asian cuisine to Alpharetta customers.

Yuwachit, who grew up in Thailand, has a habit of bringing the tastes and vibes to America that he loved so much as a child. He has been a co-owner of East Atlanta Village Thai and Sushi for over 20 years, as well as a partner of Sweet Octopus in Duluth.

Rickshaw’s menu draws inspiration from Thai market favorites, including some dishes hard to find at other Thai restaurants in the metro area. This includes Rickshaw’s Street Basil Chicken, which is made with spicy ground chicken, diced bell peppers and onions, fresh basil, rice, and a fried egg. The restaurant’s Pad Thai is as authentic and of the highest quality as any found in Thailand.

“It’s not Thai American cuisine,” Yuwachit said. “It’s an upscale setting with authentic street food ingredients not found in Thai American cuisine. The cost of purchasing these ingredients may be higher, but it also brings more flavor. “

The restaurant will also offer Thai-inspired cocktails, beer and wine.

Rickshaw Thai Street Food opened in October after improvements to the kitchen and decor of the old restaurant, and the restaurant is currently working on transforming the semi-covered rooftop terrace into an all-weather seating area where patrons can dine comfortably under the stars in summer and enjoy the blanket and warmth even in winter.

The restaurant is open for lunch and dinner and can accommodate private parties for up to 30 people.

Yuwachit says he looks forward to seeing Rickshaw take his place as the latest of his ventures to pair the flavors of Southeast Asia with the palates of the Southeastern United States, but he is far from stop. Rickshaw will continue to update its menu with new offerings like its other locations have done, and it plans to open another restaurant soon in downtown Lawrenceville in the near future.
